Happy Birthday Bianca
March 19 is Bianca’s birthday and I want to wish her a happy birthday.
At the end of 2022 she underwent preventive double mastectomy, a choice made after learning that she carries the BRCA1 mutation, which increases the risk of developing certain types of cancer, particularly breast and ovarian cancer.
The photo below of her was posted on her Instagram account after she healed and I decided to use it for a digital art work, please look at the last image of the post.
My intention is to wish Bianca a happy birthday and to celebrate this decision to protect her health and put a smile on her life, as she does in the picture.

I made several digital art works with images of Bianca some years ago (you can visit the “Bianca meets colors gallery” here) and I had already drawn wings for her in one of them, fairy wings.
This time I added angel wings to her. They are not my original drawing, I took them on an image site and exactly from the author you can find in the credits below, however I modified them with GIMP to fit the image.
After that, since it’s a birthday wishes card, I added the balloons, also taken from an image database (see credits) and wrote Live, Laugh, Love, which seemed perfect to me.
In the upper left corner I drew the heart with the Reiki symbols inside while at the bottom I added the writing in Italian “Buon Compleanno Bianca”.
And finally I applied some effects and filters with GIMP to make a golden angel 🙂
